Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Original illustration for A Midsummer Night's Dream (Up and down, up and down, Goblin), 1908 by Arthur Rackham was auctioned at Sothebys in London in December 2021. The price achieved of GBP 22,680.00 (€ 27,052.48) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Arthur Rackham - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Andromeda, which sold at auction in September last year for GBP 88,500.00 (€ 100,721.56).

Die Arbeit Original illustration for A Midsummer Night's Dream (Up and down, up and down, Goblin), 1908 von Arthur Rackham kam im Dezember 2021 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 22.680,00 (€ 27.052,48) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Arthur Rackham mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Andromeda beobachtet, die im September letzten Jahres für GBP 88.500,00 (€ 100.721,56) versteigert wurde.
