In October 2001 Christies in New York held the auction American Paintings and Sculpture, which included the work Cows Along the River Bank by Arthur Parton. The »bidding war« ended at USD 7,637.50 (€ 8,492.72), 53% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Arthur Parton - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Lake Scene, which sold at auction in September 2020 for USD 32,760.00 (€ 27,956.99).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 53 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2001 führte Christies in New York die Auktion American Paintings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Cows Along the River Bank von Arthur Parton zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 7.637,50 (€ 8.492,72) und damit 53% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Arthur Parton mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Lake Scene beobachtet, die im September 2020 für USD 32.760,00 (€ 27.956,99) versteigert wurde.
