Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Paradise Lost (a group of three) by Arthur Okamura was auctioned at Bonhams in February this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 300.00 – 500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 191.25 (€ 180.39). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Arthur Okamura achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work When the Moon is Black in February this year with an auction result of USD 3,570.00 (€ 3,367.29).
