The »bidding war« ended at GBP 528.75 (€ 886.46), 51% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Arthur Murch have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Australian Crouching Female Figure in November 2009 with an auction result of AUD 6,300.00 (€ 3,841.60).

Die Arbeit Figures and dogs before a Classical rotunda von Arthur Murch wurde im Mai 2001 in der Auktion BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 528,75 (€ 886,46) und damit 51% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Arthur Murch auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Australian Crouching Female Figure im November 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 6.300,00 (€ 3.841,60).
