Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Clouds Over the Farm by Arthur Hill Gilbert was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in August this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 6,400.00 (€ 5,904.60) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Arthur Hill Gilbert - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Hills of Carmel Highlands, Overlooking Mt. Doud, Big Sur, which sold at auction in August 2020 for USD 27,575.00 (€ 23,102.38).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Clouds Over the Farm von Arthur Hill Gilbert kam im August diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in Los Angeles zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 6.400,00 (€ 5.904,60) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Arthur Hill Gilbert mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Hills of Carmel Highlands, Overlooking Mt.
