Auction result well in line with expectations
In April this year Bonhams held the auction California Art, which included the work Bret Harte Cabin, Painted at Jackass Hill Near Sonora, California by Arthur Hill Gilbert. The price achieved of USD 3,570.00 (€ 3,233.70) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Arthur Hill Gilbert have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Hills of Carmel Highlands, Overlooking Mt. Doud, Big Sur in August 2020 with an auction result of USD 27,575.00 (€ 23,102.38).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion California Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Bret Harte Cabin, Painted at Jackass Hill Near Sonora, California von Arthur Hill Gilbert zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 3.570,00 (€ 3.233,70) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Arthur Hill Gilbert auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Hills of Carmel Highlands, Overlooking Mt.
