In December 2012 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master & British Paintings Day Sale, which included the work Portrait Of A Lady, Seated At A Harpsichord, Possibly Lucy, Duchess Of St. Albans (D. 1752) by Arthur Devis. The result of GBP 25,000.00 (€ 30,831.94) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Arthur Devis - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait of Thomas Bateman Lane (b. 1735), small full-length, in a grey suit with a blue waistcoat, holding a tricorn in his left hand, leaning on a tree stump, in a river landscape with the sea beyond, which sold at auction in June 2004 for GBP 53,775.00 (€ 80,033.31).

Im Dezember 2012 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Master & British Paintings Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait Of A Lady, Seated At A Harpsichord, Possibly Lucy, Duchess Of St. Albans (D. 1752) von Arthur Devis zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 25.000,00 (€ 30.831,94) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 25.000,00 – 35.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Arthur Devis mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Portrait of Thomas Bateman Lane (b. 1735), small full-length, in a grey suit with a blue waistcoat, holding a tricorn in his left hand, leaning on a tree stump, in a river landscape with the sea beyond beobachtet, die im Juni 2004 für GBP 53.775,00 (€ 80.033,31) versteigert wurde.
