Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of a lady, said to be a member of the Lister family, seated, small full-length, in an interior by Arthur Devis was auctioned at Christies in London in November 2016. The price achieved of GBP 5,250.00 (€ 6,194.48) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Arthur Devis achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of Thomas Bateman Lane (b. 1735), small full-length, in a grey suit with a blue waistcoat, holding a tricorn in his left hand, leaning on a tree stump, in a river landscape with the sea beyond in June 2004 with an auction result of GBP 53,775.00 (€ 80,033.31).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Portrait of a lady, said to be a member of the Lister family, seated, small full-length, in an interior von Arthur Devis kam im November 2016 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of Thomas Bateman Lane (b. 1735), small full-length, in a grey suit with a blue waistcoat, holding a tricorn in his left hand, leaning on a tree stump, in a river landscape with the sea beyond im Juni 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 53.775,00 (€ 80.033,31).
