In July 2017 Christies in London held the auction Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite and British Impressionist Art, which included the work Contemplation by Arthur Dampier May. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 18,750.00 (€ 20,922.12), 25% above the upper estimate. Other works by Arthur Dampier May have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of GBP 30,000.00 (€ 33,636.60) in July 2018 for the work Before the bath.
