In July 2018 Christies in London held the auction Victorian Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art, which included the work Before the bath by Arthur Dampier May. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 30,000.00 (€ 33,636.60), 20% above the upper estimate. With this result, Before the bath is even the most expensive work of art by Arthur Dampier May that we have observed at auctions so far.
