A top price for Arthur Burdett Frost - as previously expected
The work An Unexpected Covey by Arthur Burdett Frost was sold in the American Art auction at Sothebys in New York in April 2017. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 35,000.00 (€ 32,124.83) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, An Unexpected Covey is the most expensive artwork by Arthur Burdett Frost that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Die Arbeit An Unexpected Covey von Arthur Burdett Frost wurde im April 2017 in der Auktion American Art bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 35.000,00 (€ 32.124,83) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist An Unexpected Covey das teuerste Kunstwerk von Arthur Burdett Frost, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
