Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction Two Centuries: American Art, which included the work The Galaxy by Arthur Bowen Davies. The price achieved of USD 12,600.00 (€ 10,729.80) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Arthur Bowen Davies have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Heart's Hansel in November 2007 with an auction result of USD 67,000.00 (€ 45,615.47).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2021 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Two Centuries: American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Galaxy von Arthur Bowen Davies zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 12.600,00 (€ 10.729,80) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Arthur Bowen Davies auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Heart's Hansel im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 67.000,00 (€ 45.615,47).
