A top price for Arthur Alfred Davis - as previously expected
In June 2005 Christies in London held the auction Sporting Art and Dogs, which included the work No Escape by Arthur Alfred Davis. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 4,200.00 (€ 6,224.67) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, No Escape is the most expensive artwork by Arthur Alfred Davis that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Im Juni 2005 führte Christies in London die Auktion Sporting Art and Dogs durch, in der auch die Arbeit No Escape von Arthur Alfred Davis zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 4.200,00 (€ 6.224,67) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist No Escape das teuerste Kunstwerk von Arthur Alfred Davis, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
