Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In September 2007 Sothebys in Amsterdam held the auction Paintings, Drawings and Watercolours, which included the work Hounds On The Scent; The Shoot, A Pair by Arthur Alfred Davis. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 1,750.00 17% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Arthur Alfred Davis - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work No Escape, which sold at auction in June 2005 for GBP 4,200.00 (€ 6,224.67).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im September 2007 führte Sothebys in Amsterdam die Auktion Paintings, Drawings and Watercolours durch, in der auch die Arbeit Hounds On The Scent; The Shoot, A Pair von Arthur Alfred Davis zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 1.750,00 und damit 17% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Arthur Alfred Davis mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit No Escape beobachtet, die im Juni 2005 für GBP 4.200,00 (€ 6.224,67) versteigert wurde.
