Auction result well in line with expectations
In January last year Sothebys in New York held the auction Master Paintings & Sculpture Part I, which included the work Portrait of a seated lady, three-quarter length, in an elaborate and gold-embroidered costume, possibly Caterina Savelli, Principessa di Albano by Artemisia Gentileschi. The price achieved of USD 2,682,000.00 (€ 2,392,079.91) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 2,000,000.00 – 3,000,000.00. Other works by Artemisia Gentileschi have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in November 2019 the work Lucrèce was auctioned for EUR 4,777,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Master Paintings & Sculpture Part I durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of a seated lady, three-quarter length, in an elaborate and gold-embroidered costume, possibly Caterina Savelli, Principessa di Albano von Artemisia Gentileschi zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 2.682.000,00 (€ 2.392.079,91) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 2.000.000,00 – 3.000.000,00 angegeben worden. Andere Arbeiten von Artemisia Gentileschi konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im November 2019 die Arbeit Lucrèce für EUR 4.777.000,00 versteigert.
