Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction Master Paintings Evening Sale, which included the work Bathsheba At Her Bath by Artemisia Gentileschi. The price achieved of USD 740,000.00 (€ 667,087.35) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 600,000.00 – 800,000.00. Admittedly, works by Artemisia Gentileschi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Lucrèce in November 2019 with an auction result of EUR 4,777,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2020 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Master Paintings Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Bathsheba At Her Bath von Artemisia Gentileschi zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 740.000,00 (€ 667.087,35) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 600.000,00 – 800.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Artemisia Gentileschi auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Lucrèce im November 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 4.777.000,00.
