Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2011 Sothebys in Milan held the auction Dipinti Antichi, Dipinti del Secolo XIX, Libri Antichi, Arredi, Giade, Oggetti d'Arte e la Collezione del Marchese Nicola Santangelo, which included the work Betsabea Al Bagnoon 26Th April 1979 The Ministero Per I Beni E Le Attività Culturali Declared This Painting As A Very Important Work Of Art With Cultural Interest. This Lot Cannot Be Exported. by Artemisia Gentileschi. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 200,000.00 – 300,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 216,750.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Artemisia Gentileschi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Lucrèce in November 2019 with an auction result of EUR 4,777,000.00.

This Lot Cannot Be Exported. von Artemisia Gentileschi zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 200.000,00 – 300.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 216.750,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Artemisia Gentileschi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Lucrèce im November 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 4.777.000,00.
