Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Artemisia Gentileschi achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in December 2014. In the Old Master & British Paintings Evening Sale auction, the work Bathsheba At Her Bath sold for GBP 602,500.00 (€ 775,617.30) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 300,000.00. Admittedly, works by Artemisia Gentileschi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Lucrèce in November 2019 with an auction result of EUR 4,777,000.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Artemisia Gentileschi erzielte im Dezember 2014 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master & British Paintings Evening Sale wurde die Arbeit Bathsheba At Her Bath für GBP 602.500,00 (€ 775.617,30) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 300.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Artemisia Gentileschi auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Lucrèce im November 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 4.777.000,00.
