Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In September 2008 Christies in New York held the auction South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art, which included the work Prakriti (Nature as creator & destroyer) by Arpana Caur. Here, the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 13,750.00 (€ 9,764.93). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Arpana Caur - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Resilient Green, which sold at auction in March 2008 for USD 49,000.00 (€ 31,002.85).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im September 2008 führte Christies in New York die Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Prakriti (Nature as creator & destroyer) von Arpana Caur zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 12.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 13.750,00 (€ 9.764,93) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Arpana Caur mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Resilient Green beobachtet, die im März 2008 für USD 49.000,00 (€ 31.002,85) versteigert wurde.
