Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Body Is Just A Garment by Arpana Caur was sold in the The Indian Sale auction at Sothebys in London in May 2007. The price achieved of GBP 6,000.00 (€ 8,829.41) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Arpana Caur - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Resilient Green, which sold at auction in March 2008 for USD 49,000.00 (€ 31,002.85).

Die Arbeit Body Is Just A Garment von Arpana Caur wurde im Mai 2007 in der Auktion The Indian Sale bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 6.000,00 (€ 8.829,41) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Arpana Caur mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Resilient Green beobachtet, die im März 2008 für USD 49.000,00 (€ 31.002,85) versteigert wurde.
