Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Charles and Ray Eames by Arnold Newman was auctioned at Bonhams in New York in December 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 765.00 (€ 675.91). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Arnold Newman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Igor Stravinsky, New York City. in December 2021 with an auction result of EUR 16,250.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Charles and Ray Eames von Arnold Newman im Dezember 2021 bei Bonhams in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 765,00 (€ 675,91) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Arnold Newman erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Igor Stravinsky, New York City. im Dezember 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 16.250,00.
