This artwork by Arnold Marc Gorter achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Amsterdam in October 2007. In the 19th CenturyEuropean Art auction, the work Birches along the Vordense beek sold for EUR 17,050.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 8,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Arnold Marc Gorter; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Summer; Winter sold at auction in April 2001 with the realized price of NLG 70,500.00 (€ 32,358.18).
