Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Cows along the Vordense Beek in autumn by Arnold Marc Gorter was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in March 2012, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 1,875.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Arnold Marc Gorter achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Summer; Winter in April 2001 with an auction result of NLG 70,500.00 (€ 32,358.18).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Cows along the Vordense Beek in autumn von Arnold Marc Gorter im März 2012 bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 1.875,00 den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Arnold Marc Gorter erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Summer; Winter im April 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von NLG 70.500,00 (€ 32.358,18).
