Despite a disappointment, a good price for Armin Buchterkirch
When the work A Village Street In The Bahamas by Armin Buchterkirch was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in October 2007, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 5,000.00 (€ 3,455.90). Despite this disappointing result, A Village Street In The Bahamas is the most expensive artwork by Armin Buchterkirch that we have observed at auction so far.
