Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Christ Blessing The Children by Aert de Gelder was auctioned at Sothebys in London in December 2016. The price achieved of GBP 47,500.00 (€ 55,535.21) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Aert de Gelder achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Esther at her toilet in January this year with an auction result of USD 882,000.00 (€ 812,304.29).
