Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction Master Paintings & Sculpture Part I, which included the work Portrait of a young man behind a balustrade, possibly a self-portrait of the artist by Aert de Gelder. The price achieved of USD 927,500.00 (€ 764,318.09) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 800,000.00 – 1,200,000.00. Other works by Aert de Gelder have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in January this year the work Esther at her toilet was auctioned for USD 882,000.00 (€ 812,304.29).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2021 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Master Paintings & Sculpture Part I durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of a young man behind a balustrade, possibly a self-portrait of the artist von Aert de Gelder zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 927.500,00 (€ 764.318,09) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 800.000,00 – 1.200.000,00 angegeben worden. Andere Arbeiten von Aert de Gelder konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Januar diesen Jahres die Arbeit Esther at her toilet für USD 882.000,00 (€ 812.304,29) versteigert.
