Auction result misses estimated price range
In June 2005 a collector was able to acquire the work Figures On The Promenade At Salerno; And Figures In The Hills Above The Italian Coast (Both Illustrated) by Antonio Senape for GBP 480.00 (€ 711.39). This price was achieved in the auction British and Continental Watercolours at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 500.00 – 700.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Antonio Senape achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work An album in marbled boards of 63 drawings of Italy, Greece, Malta and Turkey 25.2 x 38 cm. (9 15/16 x 14 15/16 in.) and smaller, with ten panoramas of 26 x 52.5 cm (10 1/4 x 20 5/8 in.) and two loose mounted drawings, sheets 3 and 4 of a panorama of in July last year with an auction result of GBP 19,125.00 (€ 22,83
