Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Panorama of the Gulf of Pozzuoli seen from the West by Antonio Senape was sold in the The Lure of Naples: A Private Collection of Italian Views auction at Christies in London in November 2017. The price achieved of GBP 4,375.00 (€ 4,966.28) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Antonio Senape have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work An album in marbled boards of 63 drawings of Italy, Greece, Malta and Turkey 25.2 x 38 cm. (9 15/16 x 14 15/16 in.) and smaller, with ten panoramas of 26 x 52.5 cm (10 1/4 x 20 5/8 in.) and two loose mounted drawings, sheets 3 and 4 of a panorama of in July last year with an auction result of GBP 19,125.00 (€ 22,838

Die Arbeit Panorama of the Gulf of Pozzuoli seen from the West von Antonio Senape wurde im November 2017 in der Auktion The Lure of Naples: A Private Collection of Italian Views bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 4.375,00 (€ 4.966,28) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Antonio Senape auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit An album in marbled boards of 63 drawings of Italy, Greece, Malta and Turkey 25.2 x 38 cm.
