Auction result well in line with expectations
In February 2005 Christies in New York held the auction Maritime including Scientific & Medical Instruments, which included the work Running Under Heavy Seas by Anton Otto Fischer. The price achieved of USD 6,600.00 (€ 4,972.13) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Anton Otto Fischer - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Great Armada, which sold at auction in October 2000 for USD 10,575.00 (€ 12,461.70).
