The »bidding war« ended at EUR 3,824.00 37% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Anthonie Pieter Schotel have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Rush hour on the Place de L'Opéra, Paris in February 2008 with an auction result of EUR 18,250.00.

Die Arbeit Uitzeilende botter Volendam von Anthonie Pieter Schotel wurde im Juni 2002 in der Auktion PICTURES, WATERCOLOURS & DRAWINGS INCLUDING FLOWER PICTURES bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 3.824,00 und damit 37% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Anthonie Pieter Schotel auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Rush hour on the Place de L'Opéra, Paris im Februar 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 18.250,00.
