Auction result well in line with expectations
The work 'Clearing Winter Storm, Yosemite Valley' by Ansel Adams was sold in the Photographs auction at Sothebys in New York in April last year. The price achieved of USD 69,300.00 (€ 65,768.25) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ansel Adams achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Grand Tetons and the Snake River, Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming in December 2020 with an auction result of USD 988,000.00 (€ 807,849.55).

Die Arbeit 'Clearing Winter Storm, Yosemite Valley' von Ansel Adams wurde im April letzten Jahres in der Auktion Photographs bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 69.300,00 (€ 65.768,25) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ansel Adams erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Grand Tetons and the Snake River, Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 988.000,00 (€ 807.849,55).
