Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2002 Christies in London held the auction British Art on Paper including Original Book Illustrations, which included the work Young Boy with Newspaper Clippings by Anna Airy. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 500.00 – 700.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 528.75 (€ 817.86) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Anna Airy achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Young April in March last year with an auction result of GBP 18,900.00 (€ 22,408.08).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2002 führte Christies in London die Auktion British Art on Paper including Original Book Illustrations durch, in der auch die Arbeit Young Boy with Newspaper Clippings von Anna Airy zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 500,00 – 700,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 528,75 (€ 817,86) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Anna Airy erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Young April im März letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 18.900,00 (€ 22.408,08).
