Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Goodbye July: Still Life by Anna Airy was auctioned at Christies in London in June 2006, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 4,800.00 (€ 6,945.52). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Anna Airy - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Young April, which sold at auction in March last year for GBP 18,900.00 (€ 22,408.08).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Goodbye July: Still Life von Anna Airy im Juni 2006 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 4.800,00 (€ 6.945,52) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Anna Airy mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Young April beobachtet, die im März letzten Jahres für GBP 18.900,00 (€ 22.408,08) versteigert wurde.
