Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2011 Christies in New York held the auction South Asian Modern & Contemporary Art, which included the work Expulsion by Anju Dodiya. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 52,500.00 (€ 37,016.15) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Anju Dodiya have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Cocoon in September last year with an auction result of USD 327,600.00 (€ 334,866.61).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2011 führte Christies in New York die Auktion South Asian Modern & Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Expulsion von Anju Dodiya zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 50.000,00 – 70.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 52.500,00 (€ 37.016,15) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Anju Dodiya auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Cocoon im September letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 327.600,00 (€ 334.866,61).
