This artwork by Ang Kiukok achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2017. In the Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art auction, the work Still Life #9 sold for HKD 562,500.00 (€ 66,395.14) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 300,000.00. Admittedly, works by Ang Kiukok have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Fishermen in October 2013 with an auction result of HKD 3,760,000.00 (€ 356,804.47).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 88 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Ang Kiukok erzielte im April 2017 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art wurde die Arbeit Still Life #9 für HKD 562.500,00 (€ 66.395,14) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 300.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ang Kiukok auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Fishermen im Oktober 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 3.760.000,00 (€ 356.804,47).
