In October 2018 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art, which included the work Plant On A Table by Ang Kiukok. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 562,500.00 (€ 63,338.33), 25% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Ang Kiukok have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Fishermen in October 2013 with an auction result of HKD 3,760,000.00 (€ 356,804.47).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2018 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Plant On A Table von Ang Kiukok zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 562.500,00 (€ 63.338,33) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ang Kiukok auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Fishermen im Oktober 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 3.760.000,00 (€ 356.804,47).
