Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Self-Portrait by Andy Warhol was sold in the Post War and Contemporary Art Morning Session auction at Christies in New York in November 2006. Here, the upper estimate of USD 350,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 352,000.00 (€ 265,440.01). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Andy Warhol achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Shot Sage Blue Marilyn in May last year with an auction result of USD 195,040,000.00 (€ 181,753,797.41).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Self-Portrait von Andy Warhol wurde im November 2006 in der Auktion Post War and Contemporary Art Morning Session bei Christies in New York versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 350.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 352.000,00 (€ 265.440,01) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Andy Warhol erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Shot Sage Blue Marilyn im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 195.040.000,00 (€ 181.753.797,41).
