Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

The »bidding war« ended at GBP 6,000.00 (€ 8,784.77), 20% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Andries Vermeulen - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Winter Landscape With Skaters On A Frozen Canal, which sold at auction in December 2008 for GBP 23,750.00 (€ 24,944.41).
