Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Stove Coal by Andrew Wyeth was sold in the American Art auction at Christies in New York in May last year. The price achieved of USD 40,320.00 (€ 37,573.39) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Andrew Wyeth achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Day Dream in November last year with an auction result of USD 23,290,000.00 (€ 22,561,270.95).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Stove Coal von Andrew Wyeth wurde im Mai letzten Jahres in der Auktion American Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 40.320,00 (€ 37.573,39) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Andrew Wyeth erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Day Dream im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 23.290.000,00 (€ 22.561.270,95).
