Auction result well in line with expectations
The work View of Palisades on the Hudson by Andrew W. Melrose was sold in the Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture auction at Christies in New York in March 2011. It changed hands for a price of USD 13,750.00 (€ 9,694.70) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Andrew W. Melrose have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work View From New Jersey Looking Towards Downtown New York in May 2006 with an auction result of USD 102,000.00 (€ 79,482.58).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit View of Palisades on the Hudson von Andrew W. Melrose wurde im März 2011 in der Auktion Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture bei Christies in New York versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 13.750,00 (€ 9.694,70) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Andrew W. Melrose auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit View From New Jersey Looking Towards Downtown New York im Mai 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 102.000,00 (€ 79.482,58).
