This artwork by Andrew W. Melrose achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in August 2005. In the THE HOUSE SALE auction, the work A coastal view with figures on the rocks in the foreground and a castle beyond sold for USD 4,200.00 (€ 3,406.33) - well above the upper estimate of USD 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Andrew W. Melrose achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work View From New Jersey Looking Towards Downtown New York in May 2006 with an auction result of USD 102,000.00 (€ 79,482.58).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Andrew W. Melrose erzielte im August 2005 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion THE HOUSE SALE wurde die Arbeit A coastal view with figures on the rocks in the foreground and a castle beyond für USD 4.200,00 (€ 3.406,33) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Andrew W. Melrose erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit View From New Jersey Looking Towards Downtown New York im Mai 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 102.000,00 (€ 79.482,58).
