The work Traveling through Mount Mansfield by Andrew W. Melrose was sold in the American Paintings, Furniture, Folk Art and Decorative Art auction at Christies in New York in January 2001. The price achieved of USD 2,820.00 (€ 3,029.65) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 2,500.00 – 3,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Andrew W. Melrose achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work View From New Jersey Looking Towards Downtown New York in May 2006 with an auction result of USD 102,000.00 (€ 79,482.58).
