In May 2004 Christies in London held the auction Maritime Pictures, which included the work Britannia and Westward in close quarters in the Channel off the Isle of Purbeck by Andrew Bennett. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 776.75 (€ 1,165.41), 29% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Andrew Bennett have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Endeavour And Velsheda Racing Off The Royal Yacht Squadron, Cowes, 1934 in November 2005 with an auction result of GBP 5,040.00 (€ 7,404.40).

Im Mai 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion Maritime Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Britannia and Westward in close quarters in the Channel off the Isle of Purbeck von Andrew Bennett zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 776,75 (€ 1.165,41) und damit 29% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Andrew Bennett auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Endeavour And Velsheda Racing Off The Royal Yacht Squadron, Cowes, 1934 im November 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.040,00 (€ 7.404,40).
