Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Andreas Schelfhout could be acquired at Sothebys in London in May 2018 for an unexpectedly low price. In the 19th Century European Paintings auction, the work Dutch Skaters On A Frozen River changed hands for GBP 30,000.00 (€ 34,161.95) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Andreas Schelfhout achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Wintergezicht met schaatsrijders: a busy day on the ice in April 2007 with an auction result of EUR 524,800.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Andreas Schelfhout konnte im Mai 2018 bei Sothebys in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion 19th Century European Paintings wechselte die Arbeit Dutch Skaters On A Frozen River für GBP 30.000,00 (€ 34.161,95) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 40.000,00 – 60.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Andreas Schelfhout erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Wintergezicht met schaatsrijders: a busy day on the ice im April 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 524.800,00.
