Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Monaco by Andreas Gursky was sold in the Contemporary Evening Sale auction at Sothebys in London in February 2009. The price achieved of GBP 517,250.00 (€ 583,182.83) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 400,000.00 – 600,000.00. Admittedly, works by Andreas Gursky have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work 99 Cent Ii, Diptych in February 2007 with an auction result of GBP 1,700,000.00 (€ 2,520,188.96).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Monaco von Andreas Gursky wurde im Februar 2009 in der Auktion Contemporary Evening Sale bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 517.250,00 (€ 583.182,83) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 400.000,00 – 600.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Andreas Gursky auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit 99 Cent Ii, Diptych im Februar 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.700.000,00 (€ 2.520.188,96).
