Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Saint Matthew by Andrea Schiavone was auctioned at Christies in October 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 30,000.00 – 40,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 18,750.00 (€ 16,230.96). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Andrea Schiavone achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ecce Homo in January 2020 with an auction result of USD 187,500.00 (€ 169,025.51).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Saint Matthew von Andrea Schiavone im Oktober 2021 bei Christies versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 30.000,00 – 40.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 18.750,00 (€ 16.230,96) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Andrea Schiavone erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Ecce Homo im Januar 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 187.500,00 (€ 169.025,51).
