In January 2009 Christies in New York held the auction The Scholars Eye: Property from the Julius Held Collection Part I, which included the work An Allegory of Poverty, the Enemy of the Arts by Andrea Celesti. The »bidding war« ended at USD 31,250.00 (€ 24,406.44), 56% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Andrea Celesti have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work David suona l'arpa per Saul in December 2001 with an auction result of ITL 153,125,000.00 (€ 137,624.99).

Im Januar 2009 führte Christies in New York die Auktion The Scholars Eye: Property from the Julius Held Collection Part I durch, in der auch die Arbeit An Allegory of Poverty, the Enemy of the Arts von Andrea Celesti zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 31.250,00 (€ 24.406,44) und damit 56% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Andrea Celesti auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit David suona l'arpa per Saul im Dezember 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von ITL 153.125.000,00 (€ 137.624,99).
