This artwork by André Rouquet achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in December 2018. In the Part I auction, the work Portrait Of A Gentleman, Traditionally Identified As Henry Pelham-Clinton, 2Nd Duke Of Newcastle-Under-Lyne (1720-1794), Circa 1750 sold for GBP 3,500.00 (€ 3,899.31) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 2,000.00. Admittedly, works by André Rouquet have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Superb Miniature of A Young Nobleman In Silver-Embroidered Scarlet Coat And Cream Waistcoat, With Purple Sash, Wearing A White Bordered Black Tricorn Hat With Black Feathers On His Curly Powdered Wig in November 2006 with an auction result of GBP 24,000.00 (€ 35,640.75).

In der Auktion Part I wurde die Arbeit Portrait Of A Gentleman, Traditionally Identified As Henry Pelham-Clinton, 2Nd Duke Of Newcastle-Under-Lyne (1720-1794), Circa 1750 für GBP 3.500,00 (€ 3.899,31) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 2.000,00.
