The work Marilyn Monroe. Five Studies, Mid-1940S by André de Dienes was sold in the Photographs auction at Sothebys in London in November 2007. The result of GBP 4,000.00 (€ 5,601.03) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 4,000.00 – 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by André de Dienes - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Marilyn Monroe, Tobey Beach, 1949, which sold at auction in December 2008 for USD 20,000.00 (€ 14,368.85).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit Marilyn Monroe. Five Studies, Mid-1940S von André de Dienes wurde im November 2007 in der Auktion Photographs bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 4.000,00 (€ 5.601,03) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 5.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von André de Dienes mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Marilyn Monroe, Tobey Beach, 1949 beobachtet, die im Dezember 2008 für USD 20.000,00 (€ 14.368,85) versteigert wurde.
