Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Artist with His Painting by Amoako Boafo was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in May last year. It changed hands for a price of HKD 7,560,000.00 (€ 897,534.25) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of HKD 6,000,000.00 – 8,000,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Amoako Boafo - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Hands Up, which sold at auction in December 2021 for HKD 26,650,000.00 (€ 3,018,669.38).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Artist with His Painting von Amoako Boafo kam im Mai letzten Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von HKD 7.560.000,00 (€ 897.534,25) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 6.000.000,00 – 8.000.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Amoako Boafo mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Hands Up beobachtet, die im Dezember 2021 für HKD 26.650.000,00 (€ 3.018.669,38) versteigert wurde.
